This policy explains what personal data we collect when you use this website and the National Hiring Metrics calculator, how we use it, and your rights under UK data protection law.
1. Who we are
This website is operated by Talent Benchmarking, the data controller for all personal data collected through nationalhiringmetrics.org.
If you have any questions about this policy or how your data is handled, contact us at: jeremy.thornton@talentbenchmarking.com
2. What data we collect
When you use the National Hiring Metrics calculator, we collect:
- Contact information — your name, work email address, company name, and job title
- Organisational data — industry sector and the hiring metrics data you enter into the calculator (headcount, revenue, hiring volumes, costs, and related figures)
- Verification data — a one-time code sent to your email address to confirm your identity before submission
We do not collect any special category data, payment information, or data relating to individuals other than the person submitting the form.
3. How we use your data
We use the data you submit to:
- Calculate and display your nine National Hiring Metrics results
- Build an anonymised benchmark database of UK hiring performance, which forms the basis of the National Hiring Metrics benchmarking service
- Contact you regarding the National Hiring Metrics programme and the Talent Benchmarking platform, where you have indicated interest
Your individual organisational data is never published, shared with other participants, or used to identify your organisation in any benchmark output. All benchmark data is presented in aggregate and anonymised form only.
4. Legal basis for processing
We process your data on the following legal bases under UK GDPR:
- Legitimate interests — to operate and improve the National Hiring Metrics benchmarking programme
- Consent — where you have provided your contact details and indicated willingness to be contacted about the programme
5. How long we keep your data
We retain your submitted data for as long as it is needed to maintain the integrity of the benchmark database, or until you request deletion — whichever is earlier. Contact data used for correspondence is retained for up to three years from last contact.
6. Who we share your data with
We do not sell your data. We share your data only with the following trusted service providers who process it on our behalf:
- Supabase — secure database storage (EU region)
- Resend — transactional email delivery for verification codes
- Netlify — website hosting and serverless function processing
Each provider is bound by a data processing agreement and processes data only as instructed by us.
7. Your rights
Under UK data protection law, you have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Request correction of inaccurate data
- Request deletion of your data
- Object to or restrict processing of your data
- Withdraw consent at any time, where processing is based on consent
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at jeremy.thornton@talentbenchmarking.com. We will respond within 30 days.
You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk if you believe your data has been handled unlawfully.
8. Cookies and tracking
This website does not use cookies for tracking or analytics purposes. No third-party advertising or tracking scripts are loaded on any page of this site.
9. Changes to this policy
